  • One of the best predictors of changes in any society is the age makeup of that society. Age group of 45-55 is especially crucial. So the events in the next 10-15 years will belong to the group who were in their 20's during the 80's. Prince Reza Pahlavi falls into this age category.

Some say because Ahmadinejad is the new Iranian president the Iranians we'll be facing Islamic fascism. Apparently these people have been in a coma for the past three decades!

"The Observatory has been informed by the Iranian League for the Defense of Human Rights (Ligue pour la défense des droits de l'Homme en Iran - LDDHI) that Mr. Akbar Ganji , a prominent journalist and human rights defender who has been imprisoned for more than five years in Tehran’s Evin prison, started a new hunger strike."

The Iranian regime is a source of global threat and terrorism. The Media in the West is more interested in giving a platform to regime apologists and promoting the candidates in Iran’s sham elections than reporting on the condition of the political prisoners on hunger strike inside of Iran.

What's happening little brother... have you listened to the Rise, by Martin Luther's Rebel Soul... lately? Tell me... tell me how you like it now?

The Price Is Right!

If Akbar Rafsanjani finances the election enough to have his name come out of the amusement box, he may very well be our very own Iranian Augusto Pinochet and at the end of the day... gives up power in return for international amnesty.

Saturday, June 18, 2005

In its Iran presidential election update of 1:57 p.m. ET June 18, 2005, The Associated Press states that there has been 62.7 percent turnout. It further describes the turn-out as rejection of a youth-led boycott. It is expected of a news organization such as The Associated Press to stipulate that these numbers are according to the official tally and there has been no independent verification of the turn-out or vote counts of each candidate. This is important especially in face of allegations of widespread fraud, irregularities, and inconsistencies in official counts.

Where is the red line?

Why do they encourage people to vote? Why are they convinced that Moin is a better choice than Rafsanjani, if anything in this game can be called choice? Heading the ministry for science and technology under Rafsanjani and Khatami? ... A vote for any of these candidates is a vote for more poverty, oppression, prostitution, humiliation, frustration...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Moin's dirty trick on me:
Dr. Mustafa Moein (moeen/Moin) has (supposedly) responded to a young girl on his blog... with such emotions that it reminds you of Ayatollah Khomeini's poetry.
Mr. Moein I had two cute little ears... but while reading your moving response to this man's twelve year old Iranian immigrant girl... my ears started growing... and as I continued reading your writing... I simply turned into a Donkey.

Well! Well! Well! What do you know! I had an e-mail earlier today saying some of the Iranian bloggers were funded to promote the candidates of the fascist regime of Iran! They had this link as one of the paid ones!

(I checked their blog... I don't see why they should be one of the paid ones! they don't seem to promote any one.)

These photos have been taken near Evin Prison in Tehran.

Kianoush Sanjari, an Iranian student activist who has been arrested several times in the last years... is arrested again.

... when my e-mail box is empty from one of the names... I get butterflies in my stomach. Today there wasn't any e-mail from him... and I feel sick...

Don't look away... we are not ... subhuman... we are exactly like you... only... you are free.

We live in a new era. It is not 26 years ago... it is not even 8 years ago. The technology has speed up. Why not we the people of Iran speed up for democracy. Why should it take turtle-walking years! ...

and Moeen is just another fascist.

Mohammad Kazerouni bloggs on Iranian Truth:
"I have never fasted in my life, nor been on a hunger stirke. I decided to do this event striktly to show solidarity and my support for those political prisoners and students in Iran who were doing the same." and "I believed that maybe through my actions I could show some solidarity and also to bring attention to the plight of those inside the country. Similar strikes like ours were also going to take place all over Europe, largly due to the announcement of Reza Pahlavi of his intention to go on a hunger strike to show solidarity with those inside Iran."
A free man thinks of death least of all things; and his wisdom is a meditation not of death but of life.

- Baruch Spinoza,

I watched the Mohammadis (parents of Akbar and Manouchehr ... the two young political prisoners in Evin,) last night on TV. The parents of the two were asking Human Rights Watch to help their sons. They were also asking the Iranian people not to vote for Moeen, Rafsanjani, Larijani, Karrobi, Ghalibaf, and the rest of the gang(well the Mohammadies said don't vote on the election day...)

I also watched the Moeen guy... go on and on about the importance of human rights and management... The guy is presenting the regime of murderers and talks about human rights! He is known for mismanagement, can't pull up his own pants (translation from Persian,) and speaks of management!

I e-mailed back:

Decisions about publication of poetry are based on merit, rather than
the credentials of the person referring the poet.

What I really wanted to write was:

You are an immature and arrogant person, professor! I choose poetry based on the work... not who is who!
Free Naser Zarafshan The lawyer who represented several families of the regime's chain-murders-victims in November 1998, Mr. Naser Zarafshan after several days of Hunger Strike is on deathbed. In solidarity with the political prisoners many of us are going on hunger strike on the day of (s)election in Iran. Prince Reza Pahlavi has started his hunger strike a few days ago.
Imshin has "tagged" me on the latest one making the blogosphere rounds.

Number of books I own: so you are curious to know how many books I own? Well... As many as a refugee/immigrant can handle packing when leaving her country eighteen years ago and buying more over the years of displacement.

Last book I bought: Cinderella for the little girl... these days she is fascinated with princesses. Ok! Ok! The last book I bought. You know being married means joined shoppings... and the book we bought last... was The Da Vinci Code (a bad read) by Dan Brown ... P wanted to read the book on his flight to Japan!

Last book I read (for the hundred times): One of my all times favorites, All Quiet on The Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque (I own the old version in Persian that belonged to my mother and my own in English.)

Five books that mean a lot to me: Amina, ma colombe by Myriam Harry, Paula by Isabel Allende (I own it in Danish, English and Persian,) All Quiet on the Western Front, Animal Farm by George Orwell, and last but not least Rabindranath Tagore's book of poems. I love to add books by Albert Camus, Maya Angelou, and a few others but time is running out!

now...

I really am not curious about anyone... but if I have to tag... I choose to ask Michael, Nema and him!

When you have never suffered to get a refugee status and more importantly you have ties to the Gambino family/regime in Tehran... you may very well enjoy the vibrant days before the election in Iran... like the fellow Iranian blogger Hossein Derakhshan ...all happy and cheerful in Tehran.
The regime in Iran has started the bomb explosions so that when the Iranian people are not out on the election day... they (the ruling clergies) can justify it by saying: Our enemies, the opposition groups scared the hell out of our people...!
Bomb blasts "killing" in Iran...

Bomb explosions in Tehran, and Ahvaz...
More than a thousand Iranian women are gathering by the front gates of Tehran University... The streets are closed so that more women will not join. Iranian Women want equal rights.

Nema Milaninia writes: "Imagine a human rights seminar for mullahs and the revolutionary guard. Just because we view them as the perpetrators of human rights abuses does not mean we should not take steps to educate them. In fact, most abuses of human rights result from ignorance. I'd like to hear more about these or other steps taken within Iran's civil society."
I agree with Nema 100%. Once the Mullahs are in prison for the crimes they have committed against humanity... they will have their whole life to attend Human Rights courses and seminars to get educated.

Elham e-mail me. where are you? are you ok?

Free Naser Zarafshan (and his wife and Ganji and Batebi and Mohammadi and Amir-Entezam and ... all the political prisoners... even better... give up your Mullah-mansions for their prison cells...)
Today's thoughts

a) I love Sean Penn's humanitarian work.

b) I read Hossein Derakhshan's blog. Despite my personal opinion of him I am a bit worried as he is getting ready to travel to Iran. I hope blogers in Iran are going to keep a close eye on Derakhshan in case he is arrested so that we can help him.

Once Dhu'l-Nun was asked: "What causes a devotee to be worthy of entrance to paradise?" He said: "One merits entrance to paradise by five things: unwavering constancy, unflagging effort, meditation on God in solitude and society, anticipating death by preparing provision for the hereafter, and bringing oneself to account before one is brought to judgment." (Attar, "The Wisdom of Sufism") My question to the ruling clergies in Iran is which of these have you done to ease up your entrance to Paradise?

Akbar Ganji is still missing. If I recall correctly the Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Khamenei... once said... Ganji's tongue should be cut off and placed in his hand. Now Mr. Khamenei... where is Iran's hero? What has happened to Ganji?

The lawyer who represented several families of the serial murders victims in November 1998... Mr. Naser Zarafshan is on hunger strike.

Monday, June 06, 2005
