Ms. Shirin Ebadi, the noble peace prize winner has introduced us a new treasury for the words Human Rights. In her latest appearance in Northern California she has said: "human rights is the foundation of a true democracy therefore the rights of majority must be the main goal of such a government."


Let me correct you Dr. Shirin Ebadi, Democracy is not about the right of majority but the right of every citizen.

  

 

Muslims barred from picture at Obama event

politico.com: "Two Muslim women at Barack Obama’s rally in Detroit on Monday were barred from sitting behind the podium by campaign volunteers seeking to prevent the women’s headscarves from appearing in photographs or on television with the candidate. The campaign has apologized to the women, both Obama supporters who said they felt betrayed by their treatment at the rally."

  

 

Iran: Human Rights Violations

21 year old Hana Abdi, former student and a member of women's association of Azarmehr in Kurdistan is sentenced a 5 year prison and exile in a remote town. She is one of many who are seeking to end the legalized discrimination against women. The revolutionary court in Iran has charged her to be a threat against national security.

  

 

Women's Rights Activists Arrested

Eight women’s rights activists have been arrested on the Anniversary of the National Day of Solidarity of Iranian Women. Amongst those are Nasrin Sotoudeh, Zhila Bani yaghoub, Nafiseh Azad, Ayda Sadat, Nahid Mirhaj, Jelveh Javaheri, Farideh Ghaeb, Sara Loghmani.
