The United States Is NOT For Males Only

The conservatives have to show Democrats as sexist hypocrites by contrasting how they downplayed experience when it was about Barack Obama and what they are now saying about Sarah Palin. Obama’s biggest drive is his ambition and his greatest talent is his ability to align himself with party godfathers and political establishment while speaking like an insurgent candidate. On the contrary, Palin took on her own party establishment in Alaska. I am not a supporter of the Conservatives but am fed up with the way Democrats and media have been treating women in this election. In all honesty whoever can joggle motherhood and five kids, a husband and the household, and be an accomplished politician, and a governor is much more qualified in my opinion.

  

 

John McCain’s choice is going to effect beyond the old white men party of Conservatives. He took the future of the party in his own hands. He has set a new direction to his own party. Sara Palin is a petro-gas girl, and a do it woman. She may not attract Hillary Clinton’s supporters but she is going to make them turn sour against Obama for not taking Hillary as his VP.

  

 

The recent wave of pretentious writings on the Iranian websites about the rights of Iranian Baha’is is as interesting as are Ms. Shirin Ebadi’s latest comments on being a tenant of Islam! On the other hand looking at these beautiful photos brought many memories from my own voluntarily tutoring of Baha’i children of refugee status in Lahore, Pakistan. They were not as lucky as the kids in these photos. Fleeing from the Iranian regime to Pakistan they often lived in one room apartments without hot or clean water. It would take them from a year to several years before their resettlement in another country. I have to add it was a challenge for me as a 15-year-old-non-Baha’i to accept some of the parents' reactions to my voluntary work at the Baha’i house (Haziratolghods). Even my participation at the few festive events was questioned but in the end we sneezed all the way through!

چند روز پیش با دختر شش ساله ام فیلم زندگی یکی از پر فروش ترین نویسنده های کتاب کودکان به نام خانم پاتر را می دیدم. دخترم پرسید: " چرا مردها اون موقع اجازه نمی دادن خانوما کتاب چاپ کنن؟ مگه خودشون با زنها ازدواج نمی کردن یا خواهر نداشتن؟ چرا خانومها رو اذیت می کردن؟" دخترم این سوالها را در باره‌ زنی پرسید که بیش از یکصد سال پیش در انگلستان زندگی می کرده است. امروز ولی در سده‌ بیست ویکم، لایحه ای درحال تصویب شدن است که شعور انسان را به ریشخند می گیرد وحقوق فردی زن و مرد ایرانی را به زیر سوال می برد. البته در کشوری که حقوق بشر به هیچ گرفته می‌شود و زنان مملکت سالیان سال است ازحق تابعیت، حق ارث، حق قیمومیت، حق نگاهداری فرزند، حق اشتغال، حق مسکن، حق طلاق، حق خروج از کشور و سایر حقوق اولیه انسانی محروم هستند مطرح شدن و تصویب چنین لایحه ای تعجب‌ برانگیز نیست.

Physicians for humanrights: "Doctor Arash Alaei and Doctor Kamiar Alaei are two Iranian physicians who have reportedly been detained in Iran by Iranian authorities. The physicians, who are brothers, were arrested at the end of June, 2008 and their current whereabouts are unknown. Physicians for Human Rights calls on the government of Iran to disclose their whereabouts, provide them access to lawyers and family, and either to charge them with an internationally recognized crime or release them immediately."
