What a day... I wake up to the news of a terrorist plot than the pictures of Lebanese flash before my eyes... children sleep on the floors... and families share one room with several other people. These bring tears to my eyes. It reminds me of the days I lived in one room without hot water and deprived of many basic necessities as a refugee in Pakistan... and now at any given time we (people who flee/fled their countries in pursuit of freedom... and today live in democratic countries) can be one of the passengers on these airplanes... Ironic! And than... people like Akbar Ganji whom I respect for all his efforts and his intelligence become a fashion and accessory! It would be something if he was an academic... meeting an academic or a movie star meeting a movie star but he has struggled this far to meet with Chomsky, a man with a confused mind when it comes to politics! Or Sean Penn?! Those people around Ganji are some bad advisers! Why not meet up with the president of Unions in the U.S. and lets say discuss Osanloo's case (Osanloo is free on $US 165,000 bail?!)... And what is this Mr. Vali Nasr or Hooshang Amirahmadi telling us? Let us say there is a talk with the Iranian regime... what do you want to bring to the table?
If Iranian regime is such a talkable regime... why this Mr. Nasr or whoever is in favor of a talk with the Iranian regime doesn't pack and move to live and experience the regime first hand!!
