Today I remember and dedicate this post to Mona Mahmudnizhad. On June 18, 1983, Mona together with nine other Baháʼí women was hanged in Shiraz, Iran. At the time of her execution, the sixteen year old Mona asked to be the last one executed so that she could pray for the strength of each one who was hanged before her. When her turn came, she kissed the rope and put the noose around her own neck.
